Hoof Care

We believe that hoof care is another extremely important ingredient to our recipe for success. We realize that many feedlots send animals home infested with Hairy Foot Wart and Foot Rot. This sort of practice is detestable to us at Standard Cattle. We have a hoof treatment program designed to prevent these problems. Prevention is the key since these hoof problems are difficult to correct, and if left unchecked can ruin otherwise beautiful animals.

Standard Cattle has a full time hoof trimmer with more than 10 years experience. Even though our prevention program knocks out 99% of the warts, we have established an aggressive treatment program to cover those animals that slip through. Long toes, punctures and foot rot, although rare, are also treated promptly.

All of our hoof care comes at no charge since we feel hoof care is almost as important as feeding the animals.
