Feeding

We use a state-of-the-art feed delivery system that, coupled with professional nutrition work, ensures that your animals receive daily the correct amount of nutrients for optimal growth rates. The feed wagons have an on-board computer system linked with our office that significantly reduces the chances of human error. Even though we trust our nutritionist, we still continually take feed samples, ensuring that the animals are eating what they need. This fool-proof system has amazing results, as far as rates of gain and animal health. Shorting the animals on protein and hay is tempting for other commercial feed yards, but at Standard Cattle our pledge to our customers is they will always be fed the proper amount of protein and hay to ensure optimum growth rates. 

For the dairyman, we are well aware of the delicate balance between healthy and fat heifers. Our constant monitoring of the feed bunks and animal condition ensures that your springers go home tall, healthy, and not fat. 

We also raise beef cattle here. These cattle have different nutritional needs that are met accordingly.

Feeding properly has many side benefits including improved breeding, lower occurrence of abortions, less sick animals and a lower mortality rate. These benefits are passed to our customers who end up with more of their animals back and less problems all around.
