Calf Ranch

Our day-old calf ranch is now up and running.  As you may well know, these little critters take a lot of care and attention. Standard Cattle assures any potential customers they have nothing to be concerned about when sending us their day-olds. We have all the bases covered; from feeding to treating our program is comparable to the best without being a strain on your pocket book. You will not find a cleaner, more comfortable place for your heifers anywhere in the Valley.

Our skilled calf ranch manager, Carlos, has years of success raising both heifer and bull calves at Standard Calves in El Nido. He brings experience and knowledge with him to San Joaquin. We follow three basic principles with our calf rising: Clean, Clean, and Clean. From preparing the milk to cleaning the hutches our operation is spic and span. And while we may experience challenges from time to time our well trained staff is there to do what's necessary to correct any challenges facing the calves.

Dairymen have good reason to be wary when choosing a place for their day-olds. Some calf ranches have given a bad name to the entire industry by pulling shenanigans like switching out tags from dead heifers and putting them on freemartins, falsifying records, or outright theft. And while no boss can be responsible for the actions of every single employee 100% of the time, in most cases, lack of oversight or poor management encourage this sort of behavior.

Standard Cattle has implemented multiple security measures in order to prevent criminal behavior from occurring on its premises or on the calf routes. We want our customers to feel secure sending us their prized heifer calves.
